Did you see the Madmen episode when Don Drapers daughter, 9 year old cigarette smoking, rum-pouring on pancakes Sally ran away from her suburban digs to her dads New York city office? That lobby shot was a virtual plethora of color! Utterly amazing! Shout out to the set designer! That lobby re-creation was spot on! 
We often get caught up in the black walnuts & honey-colored Teaks of the highboys & credenzas. Not that there's anything wrong with that! ;-)

This Heywood Wakefield 6 chair, drop-leaf extension set is from the "Harmonic" line. It is "Honey Wheat" in color and is made of solid Northern Yellow Birch. Did you know that when most designers were starting out, they worked with one company or another to get their footing? Two greats come to mind--Donald Deskey & Paul Frankel!!

I almost wrote this post in all capitals!!

That's how excited I am about these pieces.

Yes plural. They are siblings, and I don't want to split them up.
Note the long, lean lines of the handles. They were just refurbished in a matt black leather by my personal upholsterer. The handles in the middle of the credenza are all original. This is design baby, DESIGN. 
The solid wood tops are "bat wing" cut!
