Teak embellishments and credenzas abound along with Italian Lucite folding chairs and re-upholstered retro couches. A nondescript bat wing chair has been refurbished to look completely fresh and modern. The décor is sunny and inviting, with avocado-green walls, purposely worn white floors, and an artful array of clutter. An Orange Moon also offers a selection of vintage clothing, pottery, and decorative artifacts. Brasilia Breakfront & Credenza

This Breakfront & Credenza is by Brasilia!

The Brasilia line by Broyhill was created in 1962. The signature lines and waves of Brasilia furniture were inspired by the distinct architecture of the city of Brasilia, the capital of Brazil.



The city of Brasilia was planned and developed between 1956 and 1960. When viewed from above, the city’s shape resembles a plane or bird, which is mimicked on much of Broyhill’s original fabric and tiles. Most of the city’s architecture was the vision of a man named Oscar Niemeyer...

Dorothy "Mad Men" Thorpe Glasses & Holder




Dorothy Thorpe Glassware is featured weekly on Mad Men.  

The main character of AMC’s “Mad Men” drinks from sterling-silver banded glassware that he keeps inside his Manhattan Avenue office. Draper, played by Jon Hamm, is creative director of the fictional Sterling Cooper ad agency in the early 1960s.

Sears & Roebuck Mid Century Modern Dining Room Set


Dig this!! Just in time for Thanksgiving!! This is Chicago history folks! Such a lovely Amber colored Maple Mid Century Modern 6 chair dining room set, with a "built in" leaf. Pull the table apart and the leaf unfolds, voila!

We've had lots of lovely sets, but look at this!!! The brass leg bands, the dog bone backs, the table size, the lovely colored upholstery, (no more matchy-matchy). This set is by none other than Sears & Roebuck!

**Chairs completely restored in all new cotton & French linen.

Flashback...I shopped at Sears & Roebuck as a teen-ager. Hillman's grocer was in the basement. I bought my first Fashion Fair from the make-up counter on 63rd & Halsted. Across the street was Fannie Mae Candies, Kresges (5 & Dime), and lastly Walgreens. The only difference is then Walgreens had a lunch counter. After shopping we'd get a quick bite. My 3 sisters & I would usually get a banana split or some fancy ice cream concoction and a Coke. Afterwards we'd freshen our lipstick, put on our scarves and sunglasses, and ride down 63rd street in my big sisters Barracuda headed east with the top down while listening to Smokey...

Saarinen for Knoll Arm Chairs




Designers--These Knoll Executive Arm chairs designed by Eero Saarinen, won the Museum of Modern Art Award, Federal Award for Industrial Design, 1969.


The dimensions: 26 ¾" W x 25 ½" D x 31 1½" H with seat height of 18"

And for those of you that have never sat in one, feel free to come by An Orange Moon and feel the "sit." "E" knew exactly what he was doing!!
